The real job of an operator

The odd thing about being an operator is that I often start by coaching the owners rather than diving into processes.

Why?

Because what you want from the business (likely cash, but often something else too) can’t be optimized without efficient habits, processes, and systems.

But you can’t build those habits, processes, and systems without the right people in the right seats.

And you can’t know if you have the right people in the right seats without a clear strategy.

So how can you build a clear strategy if you’re unsure of what you truly want from the business?

Great operators understand this.
